Lightning strike in Cuba
I went on honeymoon to Cuba in 2006. Spent most of one night out in a nasty storm trying to get a picture of a lightning strike. At about 2am I finaly managed it. I used my Fuji Finepix S3500 camera on an fast shutter speed. I'f I am honest the picture was a total accident. Unfortunately the colours in the foreground look wrong, but being a cheap camera I assume that the reason why. I certify myself that this is 100% original and not photoshopped in anyway. ![]() |

That's awesome! Scary but amazing! My husband was based in Cuba in 04-05. I have to say it's a very beautiful place.
When you photograph people in colour you photograph their clothes. But when you photograph people in B&W, you photograph their souls!

Yeah it was risky, I was staying on an Island off Cubas mainland, Cayo guilermo. A week later an 11 year old girls was killed by a lightning strike on that very Island. My main danger that night was falling coconuts. The winds were very very strong, but the temperature remained high. I've since upgraded my camer to a Nikon D40 (financially the best I could afford) So I hope whenever to get another chance to capture more lightning strikes.
