Hi,

I'm new to this forum, and in fact I'm new to photography too. I've never really got past the point and click stage, but recently I have been trying (and failing) to photograph food.

The problem I am having is that I cook in a very small kitchen with very little natural light (or any light for that matter), and as I do the majority of cooking in the evening when I get home, I can't do it outside.

If I use the flash, the picture comes out really 'white' and if I don't use the flash, it comes out dark and a yellow tint to it.

Some of the food photography out there is excellent, and I'm sure there must be a way I can get light onto my food somehow? I don't want to spend a packet, but if anyone could make any suggestions for equipment, technique or anything else, I'd really appreciate it.
