Switch to Canon from Nikon?
__________________
Ive had a Nikon D50 for about a year now and love it, has served me well, trouble free and great for learning on. However soon i will be upgrading but i don't know what to do...

My Uni is stocked with Canon gear so im thinking a switch now would be best before i have a few lenses for the Nikon.Currently have a 18-55mm kit lens and a 50mmf1.8.

If i did get a Canon it would be great because i could use the equipment that is at Uni until i finish.
But on the other hand im already used to Nikon and if i stuck with Nikon i would sort of be 'forced' to get additional lenses, but this would mean that im set up for when i leave and not have to fork out a few grand in one lump sum.
Or i could switch to Canon and get my own lenses.

What would you do in my situation?

As Zmaster2k says: I have no problems with canon, excellent stuff. If you college has loads of stuff they can loan out... the happy days. Personally canon does a better stock of parts, lenses etc...
