I used Adobe Photoshop CS2 for my pictures. I can easily edit the things I don't want to come out of the picture. I am planning to get the CS3 version of Photoshop soon.

i use photoshop CS3 and Photoshop elements it gets all the work that i need done.

I downloaded GIMP a few weeks ago and have found it very useful... it's the first p-hoto editing applications I have ever used, but I found it very easy to use and will carry on until I am wow'd by anything else that does it for free.

Beginner with Canon 400D... any help greatfully accepted.

Gimp is good, but limited i edit photos for a living and frankly Photoshop is the only option, the output is so balence and when we go to print we know pretty much wahts going to happen.

Plus it has more features than you will ever need, yes it can look a bit daunting but splash out and get stuck in you really wont regret it.

Adobe Lightroom, and photoshop are both superb. for basic editing - exposure comp, contrast, brightness and retouching. Aperture from apple is superb and a third of the price of photoshop

I use CS2. It works great for me.
